RugbyTown is a TV series about the American Raptors, a team of world-class American professional athletes who failed to achieve NFL, MLB, or NBA stardom, and their second chance in life stories about crossing over to rugby, as they form new goals of being a professional rugby player and helping the USA win the Rugby World Cup.
RugbyTown, USA is the only place this could happen, and thanks to City of Glendale, Colorado visionary leader Mayor Mike Dunafon, everyone in town is on side to develop America's top athletes into world-beating rugby players, to impose American footwork, power & physicality on the global rugby stage. The City has assembled world-class coaching and facilities for High Performance training and all is focused on the American Raptors' success. The players are all USA-eligible with world-class abilities in power and speed metrics. The coaches are developing a new and fearsome American style of play, that emphasizes the power, footwork and speed advantages for use in global rugby.
In each episode, the players tell their own stories of their challenges in crossing-over from either football, basketball, baseball and other sports to rugby. The players form life-long friendships with their new team mates, while they attempt to fast-track their rugby knowledge development and we meet their family and friends. With every training advantage at their disposal, the pressure is on to mint new USA Eagles (national team) fast, while the coaches are forced to cut players who don't project to the top level. RugbyTown is real, with winners and losers in each episode, both on and off the pitch, as the players, coaches, and a city find purpose in a new Game for Life.
